Juniors Workshop – Basic Gathered Skirt

AGE 10 - 17 GIRLS ONLY CLASS

This workshop is suitable for learners who want to learn how to use a domestic sewing machine. In this course, you will make a gathered skirt to build confidence in using a sewing machine and start your dressmaking journey.

  • Wind the bobbin
  • Thread a domestic sewing machine
  • Operate the machine to sew straight and zig zag stitches
  • Learn how to construct a gathered skirt
  • Learn an elasticated waistband finishing
You will need to bring

Please refrain from bringing heavy, stretchy, or silky fabrics.  Also, note that we cannot accommodate bringing your own machine.

  • 2 to 2.5 meters of cotton material
  • Matching colour thread
  • 2.5cm/1" elastic (the size of your waist)

 

Water will be provided; you are welcome to bring a snack.
