Beginners Sewing - Gathered Skirt
AGED 18+ WOMEN ONLY CLASS
This workshop is designed for learners who want to learn how to use a domestic sewing machine. In this course, you will make a basic gathered skirt to build confidence in using a sewing machine and start your dressmaking journey.
Key Learning
- Wind the bobbin
- Thread a domestic sewing machine
- Operate the machine to sew straight and zig zag stitches
- Learn how to construct a gathered skirt
- Complete an elasticated waistband finishing
You will need to bring
Please refrain from bringing heavy, stretchy, or silky fabrics. Also, note that we cannot accommodate bringing your own machine.
- 2.5 to 3 meters of cotton material
- Matching colour thread
- 2.5cm/1" wide elastic (the size of your waist)
